It's a challenge to use the title of or lyrics from an 80s song as inspiration for a layout. "Don't Stop Believing" has a line in it that says "Everybody wants a Thrill" and it immediately made me think of riding a roller coaster, and I remembered this pics of hubs riding a coaster, circa 2006. Perfect! It's also perfect for the challenge over at <a href="http://pixelsandpaperchallengeblog.blogspot.com/2014/07/welcome-to-our-july-challenge-and-dt.html">Pixels and Paper challenge blog</a>. <br><br>
This is their inspiration photo to use for their challenge. I went with riding rides at a carnival or theme park.<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Z53NmSpjWOg/U6ioFFj4crI/AAAAAAAAIYc/VjrTY5Y5h9k/s1600/file4851278378653.jpg" imageanchor="1" ><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Z53NmSpjWOg/U6ioFFj4crI/AAAAAAAAIYc/VjrTY5Y5h9k/s320/file4851278378653.jpg" /></a>

I've been having a thing for tags recently, and this is such a fun and playful sketch! I was able to use some fun playful pics and papers that I got recently, and this layout of Olivia striking a pose turned out great!

<br><BR>
First, there are 2 monochromatic challenges I found. The first is over at <a href="http://scrapourstash.blogspot.ca/2014/06/stash-challenge-15-monocromatic-lo.html">Scrap Our Stash stash challenge #15</a>. The twist was to add 5 prepackaged/premade embellishments. I've used: washi, flowers, brads (crowns), card stock stickers, & adhesive pearls.
<br><BR>
Next is the monotone challenge over at <a href="http://justtwomidwestgirls.blogspot.com/2014/06/new-challenge-lets-go-monotone.html?showComment=1403459853105">Just Two Midwest Girls</a>.
<BR><BR>
I used the Daisy #9 sketch from <a href="http://scrapbook.steals.com/wp/2014/06/18/20610/">Scrapbooksteals.com</a> challenge blog as inspiration, though I tweaked it a bit.
<BR><BR>
I also used the tic-tac-toe challenge over at <a href="http://123getscrappy.blogspot.com/2014/06/june-2014-challenge-11.html">1-2-3 Get Scrappy</a>. I selected a diagonal row and used pearls (adhesive ones and the ones in the center of flowers), brads (crowns) and stripes.

Supplies used:<br>
Echo Park "Pretty in Pink" mini theme papers; Colorbok papers; Glitz 6x6 papers; Paper Studio (Hobby Lobby) Cardstock stickers and crown brads; flowers and adhesive pearls from Michael's; Simple Stories alphas, American Crafts Thickers alphas.

<br><br>
I can never get circles of twine to work out for me, so I turned it into a double layered square frame of twine around my pictures and paper. I love the result! I've been using a lot of white CS background lately and I really like how this layout came together. It looks nice for a patriotic page without oozing red/white/blue, which is something I usually don't like about patriotic layouts. And again, more water colors! So happy I've discovered this, thanks to the blog hop challenge of course! These are some pics of my adorable girl when she was 2 and a half, from 4th of July that year, that I just finally got around to printing. I was wondering how I'd use them all together, but this sketch provided a great solution! I was also inspired by a challenge last month at <a href="www.acherryontop.com">A Cherry on Top</a> by Sher to use colors inspired by some of the Olympic rings - specifically the ones on top - red, Black, & blue, with silver/gold/bronze accents.

Colorbok white CS, Red PP <br>
Queen & Co blue chevron washi <br>

This one is hosted by <a href="http://lisasscrappyhideaway.blogspot.com/2014/03/lets-get-sketchy-blog-hop.html">Lisa </a>and her twist was to use 2 or more stars on the layout. I created a companion page to one I made the other day of my daughter at her first pageant.
<br><br>
Here's the sketch:
<br><br><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-48sjxnb3ZCI/UyYKUbLng9I/AAAAAAAAAjk/l-K6YHkMTZg/s1600/On+Stage+sketch.jpg" imageanchor="1" ><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-48sjxnb3ZCI/UyYKUbLng9I/AAAAAAAAAjk/l-K6YHkMTZg/s400/On+Stage+sketch.jpg" /></a>
<br><br>
And here's what I created:

I rotated the sketch to make it look a bit different from the other one I created. I used some Studio Calico Wood veneer stars for the twist to use stars. I used the same water color effect to work with the other page I made earlier this week. <br>

<br><br>
Here's the sketch:

This one is hosted by <a href="http://www.jenessafranco.blogspot.com/2014/03/lets-get-sketchy-sketch-thon-blog-hop.html">Jenessa</a>, and the twist to use along with her sketch is to mix and match multiple collections/designers/brands on the same layout. I do this ALL the time, so it was easy peasy! Not to mention I did a Christmas page, and I have lots of Christmas goodies that match.
<br><br>
Here's Jenessa's sketch:
<br><br>
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Nx_JjGCYPxI/UyYCKEGH6tI/AAAAAAAAAis/qsgSwz1sBgk/s1600/Xmas+2013+sketch.jpg" imageanchor="1" ><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Nx_JjGCYPxI/UyYCKEGH6tI/AAAAAAAAAis/qsgSwz1sBgk/s400/Xmas+2013+sketch.jpg" /></a>
<br><br>
And here's what I came up with:
<br><br>
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-3etKn2fwhE8/UyYCjesaD7I/AAAAAAAAAi8/rSuF1SUbydw/s1600/Xmas+2013+title.JPG" imageanchor="1" ><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-3etKn2fwhE8/UyYCjesaD7I/AAAAAAAAAi8/rSuF1SUbydw/s400/Xmas+2013+title.JPG" />
<br><br></a><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-8Cy18g4nrJo/UyYCcXe5m3I/AAAAAAAAAi0/JzspK0h-www/s1600/Xmas+2013.JPG" imageanchor="1" ><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-8Cy18g4nrJo/UyYCcXe5m3I/AAAAAAAAAi0/JzspK0h-www/s400/Xmas+2013.JPG" /></a>
<br><br>
I combined the two smaller pictures on the sketch and used one larger picture. For several years now I have made a scrapbook page of our family in front of a Christmas tree somewhere for that year, and this is the page for this past year (Well, one of them ;) ).
<br><br>
I definitely used a mixture of brands/companies: <br>
Heidi Swapp Believe Christmas paper (background, black script strip, Santa circle punchout)<br>
Simple Stories red dot paper (torn)<br>
American Crafts Thickers <br>
Echo Park brads (black jewel, tree brad by title)<br>
Little Yellow Bicycle die cut tag <br>
Bling on title alphas from stash <br>
<br><br>

This sketch challenge is hosted by <a href="http://scrappinaroundtheclock.blogspot.ca/2014/03/lets-get-sketchy-birthday-blog-hop-us.html">Laura</a>, and her twist with the sketch was to add wood grain to the layout (wood embellishments, wood grain paper).
<br><br>
Here's the sketch:
<br><br>
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-dTBFfHdOjI8/UyX-WLn07qI/AAAAAAAAAiI/hKUZLrYO394/s1600/Beard+white+as+Snow+sketch.jpg" imageanchor="1" ><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-dTBFfHdOjI8/UyX-WLn07qI/AAAAAAAAAiI/hKUZLrYO394/s400/Beard+white+as+Snow+sketch.jpg" /></a>
<br><br>
And here's my take on the sketch:
<br><br>
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-7SeXmt4_-aQ/UyX-rRmoJGI/AAAAAAAAAiQ/YwnG_f9P1Lk/s1600/Beard+White+as+Snow+journal.JPG" imageanchor="1" ><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-7SeXmt4_-aQ/UyX-rRmoJGI/AAAAAAAAAiQ/YwnG_f9P1Lk/s400/Beard+White+as+Snow+journal.JPG" /></a>
<br><br><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-8I4KsLNIeDk/UyX-uQfRpWI/AAAAAAAAAig/72edJ6Bt0bk/s1600/Beard+White+as+Snow+title.JPG" imageanchor="1" ><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-8I4KsLNIeDk/UyX-uQfRpWI/AAAAAAAAAig/72edJ6Bt0bk/s400/Beard+White+as+Snow+title.JPG" /></a>
<br><br><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-0-9cS5rY2lU/UyX-rkjzt3I/AAAAAAAAAiU/E4nx84Wbv44/s1600/Beard+White+as+Snow.JPG" imageanchor="1" ><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-0-9cS5rY2lU/UyX-rkjzt3I/AAAAAAAAAiU/E4nx84Wbv44/s400/Beard+White+as+Snow.JPG" /></a>
<br><br>
At first I wasn't sure how I was going to handle the chicken wire stamping/etc., but then I found this hexagon/honeycomb paper in my Heidi Swapp Christmas paper pack and instantly I knew what I wanted to do! So I cut some out and cut out a couple of the other sayings and added them to the page instead of flowers. And for the twist to use wood/wood grain, I have some wood grain on the journaling card and some Studio Calico wood veneer stars on my page.
<br><br>
I was also inspired by a current challenge over at <a href="www.acherryontop.com">A Cherry On Top</a>. This month Joannie is our Guest Designer, and one of her challenges is encouraging us to use one of several phrases from Shakespeare to use as a title. "His Beard Was as White as Snow" was on the list, and of course is perfect for a page about visiting Santa!
<br><br>
Supplies: <br>
Studio Calico wood stars veneer <br>
Reminisce red background paper <br>
Heidi Swapp Believe Christmas hexagons paper <br>
Echo Park This & That Christmas journaling spot (I'm pretty sure lol) <br>
A variety of alphas, including Fancy Pants, Simple Stories, Bo Bunny. <br>
Queen & Co Black fishnet Washi <br>
<br><br>

This sketch challenge is by <a href="http://ascrappinnana.blogspot.com/2014/03/lets-get-sketchy-blog-hop-2.html">Pat</a>, and the twist for the sketch is to ink your edges and use a stamp on the page. I used a Chestnut brown to ink some of my edges and used the same color ink to stamp some on the white background. Loving how this page turned out!
<br><br>
Here's the sketch:

The ladies in the blog hop have some FABULOUS sketches and inspiration on their blogs. This challenge is on <a href="http://memoriesonthepage.blogspot.com/2014/03/lgs-birthday-blog-hop.html">Lynn's blog</a>.
<br><br>
Here's the sketch:
<br><br>
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-cwvZKTV7Q1M/UyG3PZoTE9I/AAAAAAAAAgg/NZwTcS4RaqY/s1600/beau+you+sketch.jpg" imageanchor="1" ><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-cwvZKTV7Q1M/UyG3PZoTE9I/AAAAAAAAAgg/NZwTcS4RaqY/s400/beau+you+sketch.jpg" /></a>
<br><br>
Her twist for this challenge was to use stenciling or watercolors on the page. I have no stencils, so I guess it's water colors for me! I've used water colors on a mini journal before, but never on a page. So it was fun making this page, and I've got to say, I LOVE the results!
<br><br>
Here's what I came up with. It's my favorite page I've ever made by far. Love love love!
<br><br>
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Zq89cSbPimo/UyG3mSj2DpI/AAAAAAAAAgo/excAoVruLlU/s1600/Beau+You.jpg" imageanchor="1" ><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Zq89cSbPimo/UyG3mSj2DpI/AAAAAAAAAgo/excAoVruLlU/s400/Beau+You.jpg" /></a>

<br><br>
I was also inspired by a challenge over at <a href="www.acherryontop.com">A Cherry on Top</a>, hosted by <a href="http://blbabe1234.wordpress.com/">Brandy</a>. She hosts an "inspired by fashion" challenge every month, and this month, cami's and spaghetti straps are in! She challenged us to use a neutral background (show some skin!) and thin, sheer, see through elements on the page. When I saw this sketch from LGS, I KNEW it would be perfect for Brandy's challenge too.
<br><br>
I LOVE doing creative challenges that encourage and inspire me to get out of my comfort zone and try things I never would have considered otherwise. I LOVE the outcome of these challenges and I've added another technique to my aresenal!

I still have some to print out, but I've gotten a lot done with what I've got so far! This layout was for a sketch challenge on the <a href="www.scrapbooksteals.com">ScrapbookSteals blog</a> and I'm also submitting it to <a href="http://useyourstuff.blogspot.com/2014/03/challenge-126-animals.html">Use Your Stuff</a> for their newest challenge: to use animals - either in the pictures or embellies - on your layout. I've got that covered!

ChallengeStuck?!'s March 1st reveal does not disappoint! It's a fabulous sketch that had my gears turning immediately.
<br><br>
Here's the sketch:
<br><br><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-m4KFABh7uN0/UxVE43SHBSI/AAAAAAAAAfo/QVE4s_ADRkc/s1600/Treasure+sketch+Stuck.jpg" imageanchor="1" ><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-m4KFABh7uN0/UxVE43SHBSI/AAAAAAAAAfo/QVE4s_ADRkc/s400/Treasure+sketch+Stuck.jpg" /></a>

These are pics of my kiddos with my friend's kiddos last summer when we went to visit. They've only met twice but instantly were best friends. I treasure moments like this where true friendship is witnessed and the innocence of childhood is so rich.
<br><br>
Papers are all Colorbok from a fabulous pack I purchased last year that I'm in love with. Butterfly from my stash (from a RAK!) and letters are combo of Simple Stories and Fancy Pants.

Here's the sketch:
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-si_mCYVqtQc/UxVCjj2UgLI/AAAAAAAAAfM/I7r0zWtr77U/s1600/So+Pretty+sketch+LGS.jpg" imageanchor="1" ><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-si_mCYVqtQc/UxVCjj2UgLI/AAAAAAAAAfM/I7r0zWtr77U/s400/So+Pretty+sketch+LGS.jpg" /></a>
<br><br>
And here's what I created: <br><br>
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-65s4ek8fKRM/UxVCPQPHeaI/AAAAAAAAAe8/BCC49JTEXA0/s1600/So+Pretty+closeup.JPG" imageanchor="1" ><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-65s4ek8fKRM/UxVCPQPHeaI/AAAAAAAAAe8/BCC49JTEXA0/s400/So+Pretty+closeup.JPG" /></a>

<br><br>
This layout was also inspired by two challenges over at <a href="www.acherryontop.com">A Cherry on Top</a>. One is a new challenge to document what's going on "right now" and the other is a Rewind challenge, a chance to do a challenge from last month that you didn't get to. I chose the February Technique challenge, which was to use stamping while also using your newest papers. The background paper is from Echo Park's newest Love/Valentine's collection that I just got in a few weeks ago. I cannot say enough about how much I love this paper! Other paper strips are Colorbok, flowers are from Michael's, lace from Hobby Lobby, and stamp from HL as well. Washi tape on the corners is a new acquisition from Target a week ago.

Here is another that I created inspired by a sketch challenge over at <a href="http://sketchnscrap.blogspot.com/2014/03/sketch-n-scrap-52.html?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+Sketchnscrap+%28Sketch~N~Scrap%29">Sketch N Scrap</a>.
<br><br> Here's the sketch they provided:
<br><br><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-CVJQMOxZXzY/UxU_UVEqONI/AAAAAAAAAeo/ByxR9dSKlQg/s1600/Oh+boy+sketch+n+scrap.jpg" imageanchor="1" ><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-CVJQMOxZXzY/UxU_UVEqONI/AAAAAAAAAeo/ByxR9dSKlQg/s400/Oh+boy+sketch+n+scrap.jpg" /></a>
And here's what I created:
<br><br><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-tqz-0G1o3MY/UxU4du2zJzI/AAAAAAAAAeQ/9xazGv3n4hc/s1600/Oh+Baby+closeup.JPG" imageanchor="1" ><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-tqz-0G1o3MY/UxU4du2zJzI/AAAAAAAAAeQ/9xazGv3n4hc/s400/Oh+Baby+closeup.JPG" /></a>
<br><br><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-L8_FZsZeuk4/UxU4emi6wCI/AAAAAAAAAeY/rPmugPWloEI/s1600/Oh+Baby+title.JPG" imageanchor="1" ><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-L8_FZsZeuk4/UxU4emi6wCI/AAAAAAAAAeY/rPmugPWloEI/s400/Oh+Baby+title.JPG" /></a>
<br><br><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-9OaAyimvbis/UxU4FP9BE7I/AAAAAAAAAeI/iEY0pJxtDxE/s1600/Oh+Baby.JPG" imageanchor="1" ><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-9OaAyimvbis/UxU4FP9BE7I/AAAAAAAAAeI/iEY0pJxtDxE/s400/Oh+Baby.JPG" /></a>
<br><br>
It's a great sketch that is versatile because, while it shows using 2 larger pics, I took the opportunity to use 4 smaller pics that chronicle my son's first feeding after coming home from the hospital, and his protective and loving big sister helping out.
<br><br>
I'm also combining this with a couple challenges over at <a href="www.acherryontop.com">A Cherry on Top</a>. The March Supply Challenge required us to use at least 5 items from a list of 10, and a 3 in a row challenge required us to pick a row of 3 items and use those.
<br><br>
Supplies: Echo Park papers, My Mind's Eye papers, Studio Calico wood veneers, Echo Park embellishments and CS stickers, other supplies from my stash.

I finally got some papers in I've been wanting and got some pics printed. I found a great color challenge over at <a href="http://color-me-scrappy.blogspot.com/2014/03/challenge-57-and-new-dt-members.html">Color Me Scrappy</a> and immediately was inspired to create a layout about my beautiful baby boy.
<br><br>
Here's the color swatch CMS gave us to work with:
<br><br>

<br><br>
And here's what I came up with.

Here's the sketch:
<br><br> <a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-aac5sHNBelE/UwD0ErUYfmI/AAAAAAAAAc4/1kWhjIucZns/s1600/Disney+parade+sketch.jpg" imageanchor="1" ><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-aac5sHNBelE/UwD0ErUYfmI/AAAAAAAAAc4/1kWhjIucZns/s400/Disney+parade+sketch.jpg" /></a>
<br><br>
and here's what I was inspired to do:
<br><br>
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-aG-sJlgstvc/UwD0XVzw8zI/AAAAAAAAAdA/tz4lB91f2Wg/s1600/photo+1+(1).JPG" imageanchor="1" ><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-aG-sJlgstvc/UwD0XVzw8zI/AAAAAAAAAdA/tz4lB91f2Wg/s400/photo+1+(1).JPG" /></a>

<br><br>
I'm FINALLY getting these parade pics scrapped from our Disney trip in 2009. The sketch at The Memory Nest immediately inspired me to scrap these pics. I knew I wanted all of them on a page but wanted a nice way to showcase them without it looking too cluttered. So that's why I kept the embellishments to a minimum and stayed away from PP on this layout.

I had never before done a scrapbook like this, only collecting souvenirs from trips and pasting them down on some paper before. So I bought a couple paper packs and went to town and made a wedding album. Then my grandmother started sending me some of her picture albums and this picture was in it. A picture I had NEVER seen before nor knew existed. I love the candidness of it, a snapshot of us getting out of the truck at the reception. And it shows how things looked, and us just being casual, and I love that! I STILL have those paper packs that I started with 6 years ago, and when I found a color challenge over at <a href="http://www.acherryontop.com">A Cherry on Top</a>, combined with this sketch from Stuck?!, I knew it would be a perfect picture to use!
<br><br>
Here's the sketch from <a href="http://stucksketches.blogspot.com/">Stuck?!</a>

<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ngCY0gXT3R4/UwDCFHtsKJI/AAAAAAAAAb4/2QhWOG0MPiA/s1600/Mr+&+Mrs+sketch.jpg" imageanchor="1" ><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ngCY0gXT3R4/UwDCFHtsKJI/AAAAAAAAAb4/2QhWOG0MPiA/s400/Mr+&+Mrs+sketch.jpg" /></a>
<br><br>
and here's the layout I created, using items from that original paper pack so it still coordinates with my wedding album (though the style definitely is different than the rest of the layouts!)

I used it to create a layout based on a challenge over at <a href="http://www.acherryontop.com">A Cherry on Top</a> - to use colors from the Olympic Rings - either black/red/blue or yellow/green, and to use gold/silver/bronze as accents. These are my daughter's besties from her old daycare pre-k class on her last day of pre-k before we moved across the state. I knew I had to snap a picture, she and the little boy have been inseparable since she was 6 months old! (Removed faces of children for privacy.)

<br><br>
I used papers from Colorbok primarily with some Simple Stories and a touch of MME mixed in the banners. And the silver "Friends" piece has been in my stash for well over 4 years. This was a perfect page and challenge for it! PsyDCarolynhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05393947943736240400noreply@blogger.com7tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7331393241667327443.post-70953172995976677432014-02-15T19:55:00.001-08:002014-02-15T19:56:40.877-08:00Happy Girls are the Prettiest - Let's Get Sketchy Feb week 2Happy girls are the prettiest. I love this quote! And it was the perfect piece to go along with some new pics I got of my Olivia at her first pageant last month. I did this layout for a sketch challenge over at<a href="http://letsgetsketchy.blogspot.com/"> Let's Get Sketchy</a>, while also combining it with a couple challenges over at <a href="http://www.acherryontop.com">A Cherry On Top</a> (single photo of a single person, and a challenge to use hearts in the title work).
<br><br>
Here's the layout I created:
<br><br><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-HcepajW9cSU/UwA1CCF7ptI/AAAAAAAAAao/enxwsiPzxGs/s1600/Happy+Girls.JPG" imageanchor="1" ><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-HcepajW9cSU/UwA1CCF7ptI/AAAAAAAAAao/enxwsiPzxGs/s400/Happy+Girls.JPG" /></a>
<br><br>
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-l6Nb3XRZo_g/UwA1YxPLxeI/AAAAAAAAAaw/_g1mLqcVmQk/s1600/Happy+Girls+banner.JPG" imageanchor="1" ><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-l6Nb3XRZo_g/UwA1YxPLxeI/AAAAAAAAAaw/_g1mLqcVmQk/s400/Happy+Girls+banner.JPG" /></a>
<br><br><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-x3YaE-TqjEY/UwA1etaNr8I/AAAAAAAAAa4/CDR74nOVaQo/s1600/Happy+Girls+closeup.JPG" imageanchor="1" ><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-x3YaE-TqjEY/UwA1etaNr8I/AAAAAAAAAa4/CDR74nOVaQo/s400/Happy+Girls+closeup.JPG" /></a>
<br><br>
And here's the sketch from Let's Get Sketchy:
<br><br><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-2cgGXfAP0fY/UwA2hHZQRrI/AAAAAAAAAbE/LOEhi-gHBFU/s1600/Happy+Girls+sketch.jpg" imageanchor="1" ><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-2cgGXfAP0fY/UwA2hHZQRrI/AAAAAAAAAbE/LOEhi-gHBFU/s400/Happy+Girls+sketch.jpg" /></a>
<br><br>
I rotated the sketch and used the papers to stand in for some of the layering in the sketch, and used some washi in place of doilies (which I've never used). I just got a new stash of goodies from ACOT AND some new pics, so I was more than happy to scrap this morning! I used a mixture of new products from Echo Park (background ombre paper), Glitz (pink quatrefoil I got in a pack from HL last month), Chickaniddy (brad with flowers, enamel hearts, 3x4 cutaparts 2 tags), and Doodlebug (pink diagonal washi) along with some new sequins I bought, my first sequins purchase. With these papers, it wasn't hard to highlight this beautiful girl who lights up my life!

We have been through a lot together over the years. In an album of pics my grandmother sent me, she had these two pics next to each other and I just loved how they were there together. SO I was inspired to scrap them, and I kept thinking "Through the years." Then I remembered the song by Kenny Rogers "Through the years" and well, the lyrics sum up a lot of what we've been through! So what a better song to be inspired by than this! This is my submission for the February challenge over at <a href="http://useyourstuff.blogspot.com/2014/02/challenge-121-song-inspiration.html">Use Your Stuff</a>, which is to use a song as inspiration.
<br><br>
Here's the layout:
<br><br>
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-RfYl6DytzWI/UveuTUKlAnI/AAAAAAAAAaI/CV1pOqzqQk8/s1600/Through+The+Years.JPG" imageanchor="1" ><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-RfYl6DytzWI/UveuTUKlAnI/AAAAAAAAAaI/CV1pOqzqQk8/s400/Through+The+Years.JPG" /></a>
<br><br>
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Vc-1MmbR1dM/UvevJlLIHOI/AAAAAAAAAaY/zEuYBkjEgPw/s1600/Through+years+closeup.JPG" imageanchor="1" ><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Vc-1MmbR1dM/UvevJlLIHOI/AAAAAAAAAaY/zEuYBkjEgPw/s400/Through+years+closeup.JPG" /></a>
<br><br>
I'm also combining this with 2 challenges over at <a href="www.acherryontop.com">A Cherry on Top</a>. The first is a music challenge, which is to use a love song as inspiration. The second is a 3 in a Row challenge, to pick 3 items in a row horizontally, diagonally, or vertically and use them on a layout. The line I chose is: flowers, stamping (words stamps) and pearls. And I used a sketch for this layout for a challenge over at www.scrapbooksteals.com

Hello everyone, welcome to February! Hopefully Spring is right around the corner and we can start to thaw out and enjoy the nice temperatures outside!
<br><br>
With February comes a new online magazine release from the team at <a href="http://letsgetsketchy.blogspot.com/">Let's Get Sketchy</a>. I entered their cover girl search contest, and while I wasn't selected to appear on their cover, I AM featured within the magazine! Check out page 15 to see my layout. Although the title isn't correct, it doesn't really matter - I am just so excited that I have been published!!!

And so the time has come. My Olivia has started doing beauty pageants and for the next one we are raising awareness against bullying. Her picture is on Facebook, and likes count as votes. If she has the most votes in her age division for the next pageant, she wins a special trophy! So, if you could, please take a minute to go like Olivia's photo. You need to click on the picture and like the actual picture on Facebook in order for your vote to count. Thank you!

I used pictures from a mini vacay we took to Hot Springs National Park (Arkansas, USA) right before we moved here. This was a fabulous sketch from LGS and very versatile too.
<br><br>
Here's the sketch:
<br><br>
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-6kkHCf04opM/UuP2qROLF_I/AAAAAAAAAYw/d4mfYRsiqu0/s1600/discover+sketch+LGS.jpg" imageanchor="1" ><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-6kkHCf04opM/UuP2qROLF_I/AAAAAAAAAYw/d4mfYRsiqu0/s400/discover+sketch+LGS.jpg" /></a>
<br><br>
And here's what I created:
<br><br>

<br><br>
All papers are from Simple Stories "Take a Hike" line, except the arrows paper that I matted the smaller photo on. It's Simple STories "24/7" from their 6x6 paper pack. Buttons are from MME Lost and Found Christmas and just happened to be the perfect green color. Journal spot is Simple Stories "Sn@p" Collection. Washi from We R Memory Keepers (yellow woodgrain) and Queen & Co (green chevron, cut in half).

Sketch-y Friday challenge, Pixels and PaperScraps Jan inspirationThe new sketch up at <a href="http://shopscrapmuch.blogspot.com/2014/01/sketch-y-friday_24.html">ScrapMuch?</a> immediately inspired me to scrap, and I quickly found the perfect pictures to fit this sketch. I will probably actually use the sketch again, it's so fun and versatile!
<br><br>
I used all papers from Fancy Pants' "Beach Bum" or "Beach Babe" lines, and CS stickers from their "Beach Babe" line. I'm also submitting this layout for a couple challenges over at <a href="http://www.acherryontop.com">A Cherry On Top</a> - January CHA Color Palette Challenge (pinks, yellow, orange, green) and January Manufacturer challenge - Fancy Pants. Alphas are Doodlebug.

I used a bit of distressing on the layered papers and the PP are already made with a distressed look to them. Then I used 3D adhesive squares to adhere the stickers to give them dimension.
