Whew, this has been a fun blog hop, with a lot of scrapping and creativity! Another sketch challenge from Let's Get Sketch 2nd Anniversary Blog Hop. This one is hosted by Bev and her twist along with the sketch is to use a cluster somewhere on the page.
Here's the sketch:
And here's my take on it:
More pics of my girl doing her first pageant. :D I made a banner cluster up top along with some bling and a sticker.
Supplies:
Colorbok papers (BG & All strips minus one)
Glitz Designs (Pink quatrefoil paper)
Chickaniddy Crafts brads (flower, crown brad)
CS Stickers from Hobby Lobby
Bling from stash
Flowers from Michael's

Lil Firecracker - Let's Get Sketch Blog Hop TONE
Here's the layout I created for the Let's Get Sketchy 2nd Anniversary blog hop challenge hosted by Tone. Her twist was to use twine/string on the layout.
Here's the sketch:
And here's my take on the sketch:
I can never get circles of twine to work out for me, so I turned it into a double layered square frame of twine around my pictures and paper. I love the result! I've been using a lot of white CS background lately and I really like how this layout came together. It looks nice for a patriotic page without oozing red/white/blue, which is something I usually don't like about patriotic layouts. And again, more water colors! So happy I've discovered this, thanks to the blog hop challenge of course! These are some pics of my adorable girl when she was 2 and a half, from 4th of July that year, that I just finally got around to printing. I was wondering how I'd use them all together, but this sketch provided a great solution! I was also inspired by a challenge last month at A Cherry on Top by Sher to use colors inspired by some of the Olympic rings - specifically the ones on top - red, Black, & blue, with silver/gold/bronze accents.
Supplies:
Colorbok white CS, Red PP
Queen & Co blue chevron washi
Twine, stickers from Hobby Lobby
Other supplies from stash

On Stage - Let's Get Sketchy Blog Hop LISA
Another sketch challenge for the Let's Get Sketchy 2nd Anniversary Blog Hop. This one is hosted by Lisa and her twist was to use 2 or more stars on the layout. I created a companion page to one I made the other day of my daughter at her first pageant.
Here's the sketch:
And here's what I created:
I rotated the sketch to make it look a bit different from the other one I created. I used some Studio Calico Wood veneer stars for the twist to use stars. I used the same water color effect to work with the other page I made earlier this week.
Supplies:
Love my tapes washi (Blue clouds/hearts)
We R Memory Keepers washi (yellow floral)
Pebblies washi (Yellow chevron)
Studio Calico wood veneer stars
American Crafts yellow foam Thickers

Christmas Cookies - Let's Get Sketchy Blog Hop DEVRA
Another layout for the Let's Get Sketchy 2nd Anniversary Blog Hop. This one is hosted by Devra, and her twist was to use at least 3 different Patterned papers on the layout.
Here's the sketch:
And here's what I created:
I made a page about recipes we tried for Christmas cookies this year, a family favorite and some new Pinterest Inspired recipes. And I definitely have at least 3 PP on the page. There are 2 recipe cards that can pull out that are tucked in behind the green journaling spot.
Supplies:
Simple Stories Handmade holiday (everything on this page)
American Crafts Thickers
DCWV "Christmas" Sticker
Twine from stash (Hobby Lobby)
My Mind's Eye Lost & Found Christmas Brads
Kaiser Craft white mini alphas
Thanks for visiting!

Christmas 2013 - Let's Get Sketchy Blog Hop JENESSA
Another layout created for the Let's Get Sketchy 2nd Anniversary Blog Hop. This one is hosted by Jenessa, and the twist to use along with her sketch is to mix and match multiple collections/designers/brands on the same layout. I do this ALL the time, so it was easy peasy! Not to mention I did a Christmas page, and I have lots of Christmas goodies that match.
Here's Jenessa's sketch:
And here's what I came up with:
I combined the two smaller pictures on the sketch and used one larger picture. For several years now I have made a scrapbook page of our family in front of a Christmas tree somewhere for that year, and this is the page for this past year (Well, one of them ;) ).
I definitely used a mixture of brands/companies:
Heidi Swapp Believe Christmas paper (background, black script strip, Santa circle punchout)
Simple Stories red dot paper (torn)
American Crafts Thickers
Echo Park brads (black jewel, tree brad by title)
Little Yellow Bicycle die cut tag
Bling on title alphas from stash
Thanks for stopping by!

His Beard Was as White as Snow - Let's Get Sketchy Blog Hop LAURA
Here's another sketch done for the Let's Get Sketchy 2 year anniversary blog hop. This sketch challenge is hosted by Laura, and her twist with the sketch was to add wood grain to the layout (wood embellishments, wood grain paper).
Here's the sketch:
And here's my take on the sketch:
At first I wasn't sure how I was going to handle the chicken wire stamping/etc., but then I found this hexagon/honeycomb paper in my Heidi Swapp Christmas paper pack and instantly I knew what I wanted to do! So I cut some out and cut out a couple of the other sayings and added them to the page instead of flowers. And for the twist to use wood/wood grain, I have some wood grain on the journaling card and some Studio Calico wood veneer stars on my page.
I was also inspired by a current challenge over at A Cherry On Top. This month Joannie is our Guest Designer, and one of her challenges is encouraging us to use one of several phrases from Shakespeare to use as a title. "His Beard Was as White as Snow" was on the list, and of course is perfect for a page about visiting Santa!
Supplies:
Studio Calico wood stars veneer
Reminisce red background paper
Heidi Swapp Believe Christmas hexagons paper
Echo Park This & That Christmas journaling spot (I'm pretty sure lol)
A variety of alphas, including Fancy Pants, Simple Stories, Bo Bunny.
Queen & Co Black fishnet Washi

Here's another layout for the 2nd Anniversary Blog Hop at Let's Get Sketchy. This sketch challenge is by Pat, and the twist for the sketch is to ink your edges and use a stamp on the page. I used a Chestnut brown to ink some of my edges and used the same color ink to stamp some on the white background. Loving how this page turned out!

Beautiful You - Let's Get Sketchy Blog Hop Challenge!
This week Let's Get Sketchy is hosting a SECOND blog hop in celebration of their two year anniversary! The ladies in the blog hop have some FABULOUS sketches and inspiration on their blogs. This challenge is on Lynn's blog.
Here's the sketch:
Her twist for this challenge was to use stenciling or watercolors on the page. I have no stencils, so I guess it's water colors for me! I've used water colors on a mini journal before, but never on a page. So it was fun making this page, and I've got to say, I LOVE the results!
Here's what I came up with. It's my favorite page I've ever made by far. Love love love!
I was also inspired by a challenge over at A Cherry on Top, hosted by Brandy. She hosts an "inspired by fashion" challenge every month, and this month, cami's and spaghetti straps are in! She challenged us to use a neutral background (show some skin!) and thin, sheer, see through elements on the page. When I saw this sketch from LGS, I KNEW it would be perfect for Brandy's challenge too.
I LOVE doing creative challenges that encourage and inspire me to get out of my comfort zone and try things I never would have considered otherwise. I LOVE the outcome of these challenges and I've added another technique to my aresenal!
Supplies:
White CS - Colorbok
Love My Tapes cloud washi
Pebbles Honeycomb Chevron washi
We R Memory Keepers Yellow washi
Chickaniddy Crafts Heart enamel dots
Studio Calico Wood Veneer stars
Thanks for stopping by and have a blessed day!

I've been on a roll lately getting some baby pictures scrapped from when Owen was born. I still have some to print out, but I've gotten a lot done with what I've got so far! This layout was for a sketch challenge on the ScrapbookSteals blog and I'm also submitting it to Use Your Stuff for their newest challenge: to use animals - either in the pictures or embellies - on your layout. I've got that covered!
Papers are Echo Park "Bundle of Joy - Boy" and Colorbok. Stickers and elements are Echo Park, MME twine. Rhinestone hearts from stash. Tuxedo black shimmer misting ink.

Treasure Moments like This - Stuck?! Challenge
Stuck?!'s March 1st reveal does not disappoint! It's a fabulous sketch that had my gears turning immediately.
Here's the sketch:
And here's what I created:
These are pics of my kiddos with my friend's kiddos last summer when we went to visit. They've only met twice but instantly were best friends. I treasure moments like this where true friendship is witnessed and the innocence of childhood is so rich.
Papers are all Colorbok from a fabulous pack I purchased last year that I'm in love with. Butterfly from my stash (from a RAK!) and letters are combo of Simple Stories and Fancy Pants.
Thanks for looking!

So Pretty - Let's Get Sketchy challenge
Let's Get Sketchy has provided yet another fabulous layout this week on their blog, and I was immediately inspired to scrap some of these pictures of my girl getting ready for her first pageant.
Here's the sketch:
And here's what I created:
This layout was also inspired by two challenges over at A Cherry on Top. One is a new challenge to document what's going on "right now" and the other is a Rewind challenge, a chance to do a challenge from last month that you didn't get to. I chose the February Technique challenge, which was to use stamping while also using your newest papers. The background paper is from Echo Park's newest Love/Valentine's collection that I just got in a few weeks ago. I cannot say enough about how much I love this paper! Other paper strips are Colorbok, flowers are from Michael's, lace from Hobby Lobby, and stamp from HL as well. Washi tape on the corners is a new acquisition from Target a week ago.

Oh Baby - Sketch N Scrap Challenge
I have been on a roll getting some pages finally done for my son's baby book. Here is another that I created inspired by a sketch challenge over at Sketch N Scrap.
Here's the sketch they provided:
And here's what I created:
It's a great sketch that is versatile because, while it shows using 2 larger pics, I took the opportunity to use 4 smaller pics that chronicle my son's first feeding after coming home from the hospital, and his protective and loving big sister helping out.
I'm also combining this with a couple challenges over at A Cherry on Top. The March Supply Challenge required us to use at least 5 items from a list of 10, and a 3 in a row challenge required us to pick a row of 3 items and use those.
Supplies: Echo Park papers, My Mind's Eye papers, Studio Calico wood veneers, Echo Park embellishments and CS stickers, other supplies from my stash.

Little Boy Blue - Color Me Scrappy challenge
I have finally gotten started on scrapping some of the pictures from when my second child was born over 2 years ago. I finally got some papers in I've been wanting and got some pics printed. I found a great color challenge over at Color Me Scrappy and immediately was inspired to create a layout about my beautiful baby boy.
Here's the color swatch CMS gave us to work with:
And here's what I came up with.
Papers are Echo Park and Colorbok. Studio Calico star wood veneers.
Thanks for looking, leave me a comment, and consider following my blog!
